£14,320 – £15,243 per annum (Inclusive of London Fringe Weighting & Car allowance)
22 hours per week

Would you like to play an important role in keeping local people safe when they are working or enjoying leisure activities? The Licensing team has an exciting opportunity for anyone who would like to play a key part in ensuring that our entertainment venues such as pubs and bars are great places for everyone. The role will also ensure that any person seeking to use taxis to get home or to work can do so with full confidence.

We are looking for a keen individual to join our busy Licensing team, based at The Forum in Hemel Hempstead.

The role will involve working across a range of diverse licensing areas, including alcohol, entertainment, taxis, gambling, charity collections, animal welfare businesses, sex establishments, scrap metal dealers and skin piercing.

The successful candidate will be responsible for investigating complaints about licensed and unlicensed businesses to monitor their compliance with legal and licence requirements. You will also need to take appropriate enforcement actions where appropriate, as well as arranging proactive operations to detect illegal activity, often working in partnership with other regulatory bodies.

You will provide advice to businesses to help them comply with the law, and ensure that your work adheres to evidentiary requirements and local enforcement policies.

Occasionally, work will be in unsociable hours, to suit operational needs.

A Standard check with the Disclosure and Barring Service will be undertaken for this post to ensure that the successful candidate has no relevant convictions.
