.

Lead Environmental Health Officer (Environmental Protection)                                                 Ref: H223
Up to £42,269 (Including London Fringe Weighing)
37 hours per week

Dacorum Borough Council is committed to working in partnership to create a borough which enables the communities of Dacorum to thrive and prosper. Since 2012 we have delivered over £6 million of savings while also increasing performance and satisfaction across key services. We have an ambitious regeneration programme and for the first time in over 20 years we have been building our own houses. We are in an enviable location just outside the M25 and only a 27 minute train journey from Central London.

With continued pressure on services and decreasing funding there are still tough challenges ahead. But with those challenges comes a great opportunity for our officers to add real value to our Council by creating services that are innovative, cost-effective, and tailored to the needs of our residents.

The Council is now looking to recruit talented environmental health professionals to join our newly formed Environmental and Community Protection Department.

We are seeking to appoint a fully qualified Lead Environmental Health Officer to work within our Environmental Health Team, covering the regulatory areas of Environmental Protection regulatory areas including Acoustics, Air Quality, Contaminated Land, Private Water Supplies and LAPPC.
As the successful candidate(s) you must have a positive attitude to change and be keen to work in a busy team. You will be highly motivated and be expected to deliver against a challenging work plan.
These roles are based in our brand new building, The Forum which combines a number of services including the Library and a voluntary services hub. The Borough of Dacorum has great transport links and the Council also encourages remote working if it is relevant to the post.

If you feel that you would like to join in our quest to change the way we work and help enable us to meet our customer needs efficiently then please apply for this exciting opportunity to work in Dacorum.

A check will be undertaken with the Criminal Records Bureau to ensure that the successful candidate has no relevant convictions.

For an informal discussion regarding this role contact Emma Walker Group Manager- Environmental and Community Protection. 01442 228455.

Closing Date: Monday 28 May 2018.
