£19,202 to £23,681 (Including London Fringe Weighting)
Pro rata based on 29.5 hours per week – permanent contract


An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Council’s Environmental and Community Protection Team for a role as Environmental Enforcement Officer.

You will join the Section at a particularly busy time, as due to a restructure this team now sits within the Anti Social Behaviour Team, having responsibility for the enforcement of relevant sections of the following:
• Environmental Protection Act 1990
• Control of Pollution Act 1989
• Anti-social Behaviour and Policing Act 2014
• Clean Neighbourhoods & Environment Act 2005 (refuse/recycling compliance, street litter notices, fly tipping etc.)

The role will include issuing fixed penalty notices and prosecutions for fly tipping offences, as well as dealing with abandoned vehicles and lower level Anti Social Behaviour.

You will need to demonstrate excellent customer service skills, the ability to learn at pace, together with an enthusiasm for waste management and the Environment.

A working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is preferred but not essential. You will be able to work well under pressure and on your own initiative, as well as being a team player.

Applicants must have a driving licence, which is valid in the UK and use of a vehicle.

A standard check will be undertaken with the Disclosure and Barring Service to ensure that the successful candidates for the above posts have no relevant convictions.
