Ref: BI009
£20,621 to £22,024 per annum (Inclusive of London Fringe Weighting)
12 month fixed term contract
37 hours per week

Do you have an interest in data, systems and a passion for making people’s lives better?

We are looking for a Data Analyst to help transform the way we store and use data across the council. The role will involve cleansing historic data to ensure we are up-to-date, able to reduce duplication and therefore help us to analyse the data to plan to support those around us.

Your analysis will help us to design the best service for the user, having a real impact on people's lives. Cleansing of data will save hours of the Council's time, a saving we can pass onto residents through better services. There will be the opportunity to help develop a culture of data analysis within the council, ensuring that our staff understand what is happening around them in the borough and that decisions can be made based on the best possible evidence.

Your initial tasks will include:
  • Create corporate data quality standards for Property, People and Assets working with other services to design an accepted standard.
  • Analyse legacy data across the relevant Council systems, produce measures to improve data quality within those systems and then implement those measures.
  • Identify and solve Data Quality issues to ensure we keep the best quality data.
  • Provide specialist support and advice to users and departments within the Council and to be able to train people on the importance of data entry, quality and consistency.
  • To map data fields across Council systems.
  • Analyse the requirements for other systems to meet the data quality standards.
  • To produce and analyse regular reports and/or indicators of data quality.
  • Improve best practice in data quality standards by attending relevant external conferences.
  • Support the ICT Web Development team in relation to implementing resident portal and CRM.
  • Help create an open portal to implement automated publishing of information commonly requested (e.g. Freedom of Information Act 2000 requests).
