Zero Hours - Casual contract


To assist with the day to day running of Berkhamsted civic centre/Victoria Hall Tring, as a leisure and welfare facility for the benefit of the community and local business, ensuring the building is properly maintained and secured.

It is envisaged that the candidate will use their own initiative to achieve the desired aims in the promotion of the facility in a safe and secure manner.

Duties include but are not limited to Site Caretaking and:
• To advise users of the building of their responsibilities regarding safety, fire hazards, security, car-parking, etc. and that tasks undertaken by you and other members of staff are in compliance with current safety regulations, Council and Departmental Safety Policies.
• To ensure that the building is opened, closed and attended at the appropriate times to meet the needs of the users.
• To rig and de-rig such equipment as is required by customers to meet their requirements
• To assist in the marketing and promotion of the facility.
• When required make yourself available in the event of an alarm activation or emergency at the venue.
• To ensure adequate supplies of cleaning materials and disposable stock items are available throughout the building.
• To have a good understanding of current Health and Safety Regulations

This is a Zero hours based contract. There are no set hours for this post. We are looking for individuals who are flexible in their working hours and able to cover shifts offered weekdays, evenings and weekends, or on an ‘as and when’ needed basis.

A check will be undertaken with the Disclosure and Barring Service to ensure that the successful candidate for the above post has no relevant convictions.
